Program Testimonials
Ms. Golden Initial Statement: “I am a 64 year old female who just recently retired, with over 40 years experience in the workforce. Back in December of last year, when working during the holiday for Kohls Department Store, I contracted Rhinovirus, which turned into bronchitis and now chronic asthma, which I now have to use breathing inhalers for my lung treatments. I can provide any hospital or equipment documentation you may need. I have gotten behind on my bills due to not working during my hospitalization and recovery period. I pray I can get help with my rent and my electric bill, which is due by this Thursday. I hope to start a new job this week which will give me the extra funds I need going forward. This is a lot of pressure with this new health issue and trying to survive. I have been depressed, but have not given up. I have been in binds before and was only saved by His grace and mercy. I pray I qualify for any assistance your organization has available. Where I am weak, there He is strong...I am a praying woman and believe in miracles. Please help me if there is a way. I am doing everything in my power to not become homeless along with this illness. Thank you so much for your consideration. May God continue to bless you and your organization.” |
Ms. Golden statement after assistance: “Hello Tobi and Tia! My heart is overwhelmed! I just called the rental office and was informed that the money was dropped off. I am truly thankful. You can always rest well; because you all are doing great things in the Kingdom of God, for his people. My faith is a little bit stronger because God heard my prayers and you answered it for him. Peace and blessings to you all and have an awesome weekend.”

Ms. Brand (Rental Assistance Recipient): Client, is a 62 year old widow raising two granddaughters ages 12 and 20 months, fell and broke her hip in two places. She had only begun working on January 12 so she didn't have short term disability. Client was unable to work for 2 months which is why she got behind on rent. She has since gone back to work but needed assistance in catching up on rent to avoid eviction. We were able to assist with rental payment. |
Mrs. Graham initial statement: “I was desperately contacting you because we are getting notices from our rent. We feel so helpless. I appreciate it, they’re talking about it and it scares me to death. We had nowhere to go and we have dogs. Also, our granddaughter lives here please just let me know what’s going on and I would appreciate it so much thank you Miss Wade for everything.” |
Mrs. Graham (Rental & Utility Assistance Recipient): Client stated that she and her husband were currently in “financial hardship.” Client reported she and her husband were unable to make rent payment for the month of May because her husband did not make enough income delivering for Door Dash. She has applied for social security benefit and is awaiting approval.
