How to apply to fly with Talons Out Honor Flight as a Guardian
A Guardian has the privilege and honor of accompanying a Veteran on their Honor Flight. As a Guardian, you are responsible for the well being of this Veteran for the entire day. Often a family member takes up this honor. However, many people line up to enjoy this privilege.
We are a completely non-profit organization working to honor our Veterans. We ask all Guardians to pay their own way on the Honor Flight, so that all funds we raise go towards honoring our Veterans. If you would like to be a Guardian to a Veteran on an Honor Flight please fill out either the online application or print and fill out the PDF Form and send it to Talon’s Out. Please note: The safety of our veterans is our #1 priority. Each guardian is required to attend a mandatory training session to ensure the safety and success of the mission. Guardian training is 3-hours on the Saturday 2 weeks prior to flight day, from 9:00 in the morning until noon. Download the above PDF, print it out and fill it out. Then send it into Talons Out Honor Flight. The directions and information is on the form.
Honor Flight would not be successful without the generous support of our Guardians. Guardians are responsible to physically assist the veterans prior to flight, during the flight and during the visit to the memorials. Guardians cannot be a spouse and must be between 18 –70 years of age. Due to the cost of training and providing all the items necessary for a safe journey, Guardians chosen to participate must have a minimum $500 donation on record 30 days prior to flight date. The Talons Out Honor Flight is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and this donation is tax-deductible. |
