ACCEPTANCE
Prior to students being accepted to Christian School of York, one of the top private day schools in Central PA, at least one parent must be able to provide a clear testimony that he or she is born again and understand what it means to live out a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Parents must be in agreement with our Basis of Faith and our Parents’ Pledge statements that our students will be taught the fundamentals of living their lives as born-again Christians. The student's family should already be active in a local church or be seeking a new church to attend regularly. Parents will be asked to commit to an understanding that educating a child requires a strong foundation in the areas of the Home, Church, and School.
The Christian School of York does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, national origin, or ethnicity in the administration of its admission and employment practices. However, Christian School of York is an independent, tax-exempt 501 (c) (3) education association led by a Board of Trustees and is an independent nonprofit Christian ministry. As such, Christian School of York reserves the right to make admission and employment decisions on the basis of religious commitment of faith, and other policy documents.

ENTRANCE TESTING
During the application process, students entering Kindergarten through 12th grade may need to take an entrance test as part of the admissions process at Christian School of York. Students entering the Christian School of York Preschool do not require entrance testing.
Additionally, students coming to Christian School of York from educational settings where standardized testing is completed annually may not require entrance testing. Accepted forms of standardized testing include but are not limited to, the PSSA, the Terra Nova, and the Stanford Achievement Test.
Entrance testing encompasses three main areas—reading, writing, and math.
FAMILY INTERVIEWS
An interview will be held with each student's family who has completed the application and submitted all of the required paperwork for admission. The interview should be attended by the parents, guardians, and students (6th – 12th only). This time together will provide the opportunity to confirm that your family shares the same vision and mission as Christian School of York. It also gives the parents the opportunity to ask final questions to confirm that CSY is the right fit for your family.
STUDENT INTERVIEW (6th through 12th grades only)
As part of the family interview, students entering 6th – 12th grade will also meet with the Upper School Principal. A thorough understanding of a student’s strengths and weaknesses will help provide a smooth transition and successful educational experience here at CSY.
MID-YEAR ADMISSIONS
Christian School of York welcomes mid-year enrollment for students moving into the area; however, CSY will closely examine transfers from local schools during the school year. Mid-year application takes approximately two weeks to complete. If a student enters after the school year has begun, tuition is prorated according to the actual number of days enrolled.
PROBATIONARY PERIOD
All new students are on a nine-week probationary period. During that probationary period, their academic performance, behavior, attitude, and influence on others will be evaluated by the faculty and administrative staff. Parents will be notified of any major problems or concerns. Non-evidence of parental support could also be a factor. A student may be dismissed, asked to withdraw, or expelled at any time if any major problems or concerns are not resolved.
NON-DISCRIMINATORY ADMISSIONS POLICY
Christian School of York admits students of any race, color, nationality, or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, nationality, or ethnic origin in the administration of the educational and admissions policies, scholarship programs, athletic and any school programs.
All students are encouraged to participate in a variety of programs and activities, such as intramurals. We believe CSY to be a school where all students can find a place to belong!
Please feel free to contact us with any questions that you may have about these policies.
