Matt has worked as a police officer for the city of Columbus since 2013. He learned about American Hero Hunt after discovering their annual golf outing and applied for a hunt while sitting at the dinner banquet. Matt was selected for the 2024 Whitetail Archery hunt. He quickly discovered what being a part of the "brotherhood" was truly about. "It felt like linking up with old friends." After an amazing weekend Matt was fortunate to harvest a Whitetail Buck and that ended up just being the cherry on top. After witnessing first hand what American Hero Hunt was doing for Veterans and First Responders, Matt quickly realized that he wanted to be involved. After being invited to come back to base camp, Matt found his place tidying up around camp and helping other Heroes. "Through American Hero Hunt, I have found a purpose that I didn't know I was lacking, being able to give back to those that are willing to give everything just feels right." Matt has been married to his amazing wife since 2013 and they have 3 children together. "I have a passion for the outdoors and giving back to those who serve." Matt enjoys hunting, golfing, snowboarding, and photography. He has also started his own podcast, American Hero Stories, where he gets into the background and stories of the service men and women who make this country great.
