PhD, PT, Dignity Health Rehabilitation Center Michael McCarthy, Board Business Development McCarthy Medical Consulting Julia is a physical therapist and ABPTS board-certified neurologic clinical specialist (NCS). She grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology with minors in psychology and biological sciences from Ohio University in 2017. She received her clinical doctorate in physical therapy in 2020 and completed a post-doctoral neurologic residency in 2021. Julia’s passion for helping people with Parkinson’s Disease started during her time at Ohio State. She completed a clinical rotation at Parkinson Wellness Recovery (PWR!) in Tucson, Arizona in 2019 and assisted with teaching group exercise classes for individuals with PD throughout graduate school. Julia has a passion for teaching in addition to clinical practice, which has led to guest lectureship and assistant professorship at multiple university doctoral programs. She has presented at local and national conferences and presided as a clinical instructor for dozens of part-time and full-time physical therapy doctoral students. Julia moved to Las Vegas in 2021 in order to expand clinical expertise for people with Parkinson’s in a chronically underserved community. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, trying new coffee shops and restaurants, camping, and spending time with her cat, Moe. |
