Kitsya is a Colorado native. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Northern Colorado in criminal justice and criminology. Kitsya has been working in the criminal justice system since 2017 supporting rehabilitative programs. She has worked as an on-call victim’s advocate, an assistant researcher for nonprofit reentry groups, teacher’s assistant, and deputy probation officer. She is currently working at the Juvenile Assessment Center in Boulder County. In her free time, Kitsya likes to read, cook, and spend as much time as she can with her husband and children. “I believe that people are people, and some just happen to have made mistakes.
