Franziska Tief
Franziska Tief joined the ViVI team as a medical student at Charité University Medical Center Berlin in the middle of the flu pandemic of 2009/10. Since that time she was able to gain hands-on experience in clinical research, quality improvement and disease surveillance programs. The topic of her dissertation were the frequency of bacterial confections in infants and children with influenza and influenza-like illness. The majority of children received antibiotics even though no bacterial pathogen could be detected. Franziska's aim was to better understand the role of vaccinations and other factors that may influence antimicrobial prescribing practices. Franziska is currently completing her residency training in gastroenterology.
