Prof. Brett Trusko (PhD, MBA)​

Prof. Brett Trusko is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine at NYU in New York City. He is also the Executive Director of the Texas Institute for Smart Health and adjunct faculty at Baylor College of Medicine. In this position he performs research on utilizing innovation, technology and process improvement to optimize the healthcare experience. Dr. Trusko is also the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Innovation Science. In this position, he is building the subscriber base, editing all submissions and managing this 3-year old academic journal focused on the science and methods of innovation. He is a professional speaker and corporate facilitator. He is a featured speaker on speakers.com and through his consulting company, IRC, Inc. he facilitates board and corporate retreats. His speaking activities include 'The Future of . . .' varies industries, improving quality and creating the innovative organization. He has a PhD in Business Administration and Technology Management and has over 30 years of experience including innovation, quality, strategy, informatics, operations, and administration. He is a certified project manager and a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt as well as practitioner in 'Lean' methods. His focus throughout his career has been on harnessing human innovation to capture the potential of technology in the improvement of business. In the spring of 2007 Dr. Trusko published 'Improving Healthcare Quality and Cost with Six Sigma.' He has also contributed chapters to several other books on compliance and quality and has been published over 200 times in various magazines and academic journals. He is considered a global leader in healthcare quality and technology where he utilizes patient and family centered approaches to the evaluation of quality. He is currently under contract to produce “The Innovation Handbook“ and 'The Value Proposition'.

Prof. Trusko is a member of the ViVI Think Tank since 2010, contributing expertise in innovation science and economics.
