Xi Chen
Xi Chen worked with us during her time as a doctoral student. She is now a pediatric resident.
Xi is originally from China, but was born and had grown up in Berlin, Germany. A graduate of a humanistic secondary school, she began working with us during the fourth-year of her medical studies at Charité Medical University. Xi had wanted to become a pediatrician ever since she had been a little child herself. Even though her ultimate goal has always been clinical medicine, she also wanted to gain insight into clinical research. Her thesis focused on innovative uses of point of care diagnostics for the real-time surveillance of influenza and other respiratory viral infections. Knowing the virus burden at any given time enabled pediatricians to reassure parents about the nature of the disease. Young ViVI member, 2012-2015. Xi's publications can be found here. |
