NAMI Blair County PA is proud to present "Creative Connections - Crafting Community Through Art, Music & Resiliency." Come hear inspiring stories from our speakers on how they used creative thinking such as art & music to begin their healing and learn how you can do the same. We will hear from national and local speakers as they teach us how to use creative techniques to empower us in mindfulness, resiliency, recovery, self-care, love and most importantly how to take care of our mental wellbeing.

A little about Hannah: Director of Development and Curator at Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art in Loretto and Johnstown, PA. Executive Director of Creative Spaces Collective, an organization fueling Indiana County's creative future through public art and community projects. Director of Spruce Arts, an artist residency program.

Abigail will discuss what music therapy is and how to implement music in various ways to improve mood. Abigail will review how to identify and choose music that is designed for relaxation and provide examples, as well as ways to use music in related activities such as drawing and guided imagery experiences.
A little about Abigail Peace MT-BC LPC; she is a music therapist in Hollidaysburg, PA. She specializes in Music Therapy.

Title: Sounds in Recovery - Ryan Custead
Ryan will use songs, music, and stories to share personal experiences about recovery from mental illness and addiction. His music and stories highlight personal lived experiences in the criminal justice system, the trauma of active addiction and mental illness, recovery work, and advocacy. Since 2014, Ryan has used his position in the faith community to advocate for addicted persons in Blair County, partner with treatment providers and professionals, and speak boldly that recovery from mental illness is possible.
